National Surveillance of Bloodstream Infections in Belgian Hospitals

Objectives

The national surveillance of bloodstream infections in Belgian hospitals has the following objectives:

  • To monitor hospital-associated bloodstream infections trends at hospital and national level with the objective to enhance and evaluate preventive measures,
  • To monitor causal microorganism and their resistance profile.
